Tezpur University is a fast emerging institute of higher education and research. The university was established by an Act of Parliament in 1994. The objectives of this central university as envisaged in the statues are to strive to offer employment oriented & interdisciplinary courses to meet the regional to national aspirations, development of the state of Assam, offer courses and promote research in areas which are of special and direct relevance to the region and in the emerging areas in science and technology.

CENTRAL LIBRARY, TEZPUR UNIVERSITY

The Central Library, Tezpur University was established in 1994 along with the establishment of the university. The library has 45,000 volumes of print documents, subscribe 249 print journals, 476 e-journals and two databases through the INDEST- AICTE Consortium. The library also provides e- resources access facility through UGC-Infonet Digital Library Consortium. Library users can access book, journal, thesis and other e- resources from any terminal within the university campus. The library also conducted CDS/ISIS training course for working LIS professionals.
